Domain registration

Domain registration procedure

To register a domain name, do the following:
  • Enter a required domain name in the domain name verification form displayed above or in the form located at the left of the page, where a domain zone is described. For example, if you want to verify the availability of MICROSOFT.COM domain name, enter MICROSOFT in the domain name verification field.
Please, note that a domain name may usually contain only Latin letters, numerical characters and a hyphen ('-'). In separate domain zones, extended characters may be used (IDN domains). If so, a domain zone description must contain such information.
  • Specify domain zones, in which you wish to verify domain name availability.
  • Click Search in the form of the website to start the verification process.
  • If any domain name is available, you may register such name by marking it and clicking Submit an Order.
  • If domain names in selected domain zones are unavailable, try selecting another name or verifying a selected domain name in other domain zones.
  • By clicking Submit and Order you will be redirected to the next page containing a form, in which your full contact information should be entered. If any additional data are required for domain name registration (passport number, date of birth etc.), such data should be entered into additional fields of the form. Please, note that incorrect information may result in delay or refusal of domain name registration by the administration of separate domain zones.
  • If you filled your form successfully, you may instantly pay for any selected domain. Payments and receipt of invoices for payments through a bank are made at our company's central payment gateway website.
Domains may be controlled through your personal account at our website. Login and password required to access your account are specified together with your contact information when filling a form. Your login and password are instantly activated without any e-mails or confirmations required for access to your account.

Please, note that only the most popular domain zones are specified in the central domain verification form located at all website pages. The actual number of domain zones and subdomains is much more greater. You may find the list of all domain zones on the next page.

Domain registration term

A period when your paid-up domain becomes available for use depends on a separate domain zone and may vary from several minutes to several months. For most domain zones, domain registration takes several hours. Detailed information on registration terms is specified in each domain zone description.

Several basic domain registration terms may be distinguished:
  • Several minutes. The majority of the most popular domain zones have a fully automated on-line application processing system, and domains in such zones are available for use within several minutes after payment is made. Such domain zones include COM, NET, ORG, BIZ, INFO, WS etc.
  • Several hours. In separate segments of domain zones, paid-up domains become available within several hours after payment is made. Usually, processing of applications in such domain zones is also automated, and a domain is registered immediately after payment is made. However, it takes a while before information on new domain names appears in WHOIS and in root DNS servers of relevant domain zone administration. It occurs only due to peculiarities of technical operation of separate domain zones. Such domain zones include RU, SU, JP, AC etc.
  • Several days. Two basic reasons for such domain registration term may be distinguished. The first reason: documents confirming rights to register certain domain names should be provided in order to register a domain. If so, such documents are verified manually, which may last from several working days to several weeks (depending on a separate domain zone). Such domain zones include COM.TR, COM.HK, COM.AU etc.
The second reason may be that domain zone administration has no technological base for online processing of all applications submitted, so domains are registered in semi-automatic or manual mode. This domain zones usually include domains of small island states, for example, AS, PR, GL etc.
  • Several months. Only a minor number of domain zones require such long registration term, however, such domain zones still exist. Such term is determined by VERY slow manual processing of applications (CU domain, Cuba) or by peculiarities of submission or payment of applications on domain names. For example, applications on AW domains (Aruba, the Caribbean Sea) are accepted only in writing in a local company office in Aruba. Payments for FJ domains (Fiji, the Pacific Ocean) are accepted only in the form of bank checks only from legal entities by mail, and a domain is registered only upon all received checks are cleared...
However, there are exceptions to any rules.
It mainly concerns domain zones with online application processing. In the description of such domain zones, a term from several minutes to several hours is specified, when up to 99% of domains are registered. Sometimes due to troubles of some Internet channels, temporary unavailability of domain zone administration servers or engineering works, registration of domains may be delayed. Therefore, if a domain was not registered within the specified minute, please, do not worry. Technical experts automatically monitor such situations, and your domain will be registered as soon as possible.
Such exceptions occur more frequently in domain zones with manual processing of applications. If so, longer domain registration term is associated mainly with the so-called human factor, i.e., holidays, weekends, requests for additional documents of future domain owners from domain zone administration etc. Our technicians make everything possible to accelerate this process and to register your domain as soon as possible. For domain zones, where any documents are required we recommend you to consult our technical support service before submitting an order and carefully read all information contained at the website in order to prevent domain registration delays due to failure to provide separate documents.

How to choose a domain

A domain name is a first step to gain your own reputation in the Internet. A sound domain name may facilitate your website operation, ensure stable sale level and confidence of your visitors, and become an integral part of your company's activities.
The main objective of a domain name is to identify and distinguish a website, a company, its services and activities out of similar ones. Therefore, a domain should differ from all the others, i.e., it should be creative and unique.
Different persons interpret domain names differently, which is also important. Associations we may have with separate names create an image and provoke memories and ideas of given objects. The best names are those, in which impressions and meanings successfully complement each other. Such combinations create the best and the most interesting names for domains. A domain name should communicate only positive information to clients, making them return to your website time and again.
When choosing a domain name, ensure that it is logically sound. It should contain references to the subject of the website. A domain name may contain a key word related to your activities. This will help your clients to quicker remember your website name.
A domain name should be easily memorizable, so that your clients are be able to write it down correctly in a telephone conversation. Therefore, it should be easily repeatable upon hearing, so it should not contain complicated letter patterns.
Too long domain names are not efficient. Who wants to type more than 15-10 characters in a browser? Such long names increase the risk of mistake.
There are several viewpoints on the use of a hyphen ('-') in domain names. Some think that names containing a hyphen are difficult to remember, read and pronounce. Others think differently.
The possibility to transliterate a domain name is also associated with potential problems. Certainly, such names look good, understandable and attractive (for example, www.caxap.ua). However, users often make mistakes when typing such names in their browsers. They get confused, which cuts the number of potential visitors.
If you chose a name in English, avoid spelling mistakes and check how certain words are spelled in a dictionary. It's a pity, when websites of recognized companies contain embarrassing mistakes.
